what do you think of Shimano Tyrnos reels?

i just bought one i like to know your opinions

Hi Mate Well You can buy better and you can buy worse. I have been a profeesional commercial fisherman for 34 years and now run one of the largest charter companies here in Queensland Australia. And guess what? For our everyday trolling I have Shimao Tyrnos 30 two speeds and also single speeds. I run 15 on each of the large boats which gives me a total of 45. out of the 45 in the last 2 years I have had to send one away for a minor service that we did not have the time to do ourselves. We use these for most of our average charter operation chasing black marlin, sailfish, mahi mahi, wahoo, spanish mackerel, and shark and cobia. we also use them on large seriola such as amberjack, sampsonfish and king fish. They are pretty robust. For our elite game charters we then go to yopur penn gold internationals and up to 130’s but let me tell you they tyrnos has given us the least amount of trouble than any other reel we use. and believe me we use them big time. This season for the 5 weeks of the black marlin we were 6 times ahead of any other charter or private game vessel. My personal best was 7 blacks boated from a depart marina at 0600 and return at 1100. given you can take out 30 minutes each way to the seaway and and another 40 minutes before its worth putting a lure out that takes out 1hr and 20 minute of time to start with so you can see we dont muck around. be happy with your purchase, treat it well and it will treat you well.
