Yes, it is the drivers side. Also, I have been guilty of shifting into drive,however with the brake pedal applied, prior to idle down. I will nolonger do this and will check rear motor mount when I get it back from the paint shop. Thanks so much for your input.

could be a high idle or a bad rear mount causing the engine to sit sideways in the engine compartment…….. waiting for the car to idle down after its started to shift into gear will help too…….. I would check the rear mount right away if the car has had a history of leaks as this will soften the rubber in the mount and cause it to fail …… eg. transmission leaks or rear engine leaks including anti-freeze

by left I am assuming you mean the drivers side…… this is the side most of the torque is applied to so its the first to show as a weakness
